Elevate Pay has a regulatory duty to comply with "Know Your Customer (KYC)" process to help combat issues like money laundering, terrorism financing, and fraud. While proving your identity (e.g., with a selfie and passport) is done at onboarding, we sometimes add an additional layer of checks. One of the most common is a "source of funds" check to confirm that money being deposited into the account has been sourced from legitimate purposes.
These additional sources of funds checks are typically done when higher transaction amounts are being used.
Valid Supporting Documents
Below are examples of supporting documents that can be used to show your source of income
- Most recent payslip.
- Invoices to clients if you're a contractor.
- Statements of earnings or invoices (e.g. Certificate of earnings from Upwork, Stamtement of earning from Fiverr, etc...).
- Salary section of an employment document (e.g. an employment contract).
- A letter from your employer stating your salary.
